We just launched our Beta! The transition of Vidoovy to a hyper-local small business and municipal video platform has begun. Our goal is to help people get to know their communities through Geo-located video in order to encourage them to shop and live local. Visit the video map of our Beta-tester, West Orange, NJ.
Our most recent investment in equipment to ensure that our client’s web videos look amazing. And we made that investment at Bergen County Camera, a great local store here in northern New Jersey. This super fast f1.4 35mm lens is full of Canon goodness and we already used it while shooting our upcoming video for a local Counseling Service. Can’t wait to share it soon.
Most small business owners are passionate about what they do but the founder of Right at Home of Essex County, NJ has a very personal reason for having gotten into the home health care business after decades as a corporate executive. Watch our Vidoovy video to hear his story.
At Vidoovy we view our roll as more than a tool for small business growth and community development. We see ourselves as an organization that appreciates the importance of what everyday people do to make their towns great places to live. With that in mind we like to post other low cost or free resources for small businesses to explore in the hopes that the information will contribute to our shared mission of rebuilding local communities.
Score.org is a nonprofit connected to the SBA that provides free mentors and helpful templates in order to help small businesses thrive. Take a look and take advantage of this asset.
We went to the NJ Tech Meet Up this week at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ to listen to Joy Marcus, Venture Partner, DFJ Gotham Ventures and former head of US operations for DailyMotion. Amazing discussion and a great learning opportunity as we get ready for the launch of the Vidoovy video hosting platform. We’re doing all we can to make this platform a powerful tool to draw as much traffic to local businesses as possible. Keep your eyes open for our launch in about a month! photo credit: firstname.lastname@example.org
Here is a video we released just before the holidays for a 3rd generation, family owned tuxedo shop on Main Street in West Orange, NJ. There is no substitute for the quality of service you get when the owner of the business takes care of you. This probably has something to do with why customers were not only lined up for fittings but some were coming in just to say “hi” and share the latest news. When’s the last time that happened at a large chain store?
If we had to pick the one 2011 project we are most proud of it would have to be this video we did for the township of West Orange, NJ. Trying to capture any town in one video is tough but West Orange covers over 12 square miles and is filled with a huge variety of attractions. After touring the hugely impressive Thomas Edison Historical Park located on their Main Street we developed a theme around “invention” and then brought that story around to today by profiling a wide range of interesting and inventive assets within the town.
Not only did the video come out well but thanks to a careful keyword analysis it has gotten over 4,500 views in just 8 months and area realtors have reported using it as a marketing tool for prospective home buyers new to the area.
As 2012 approaches we are looking forward to helping more towns tell their story to the masses with web video. Happy New Year!
